ALBUM REVIEW: Love?

After trying TWICE to make a comeback in 2009
("Fresh Out The Oven," "Louboutins"), and hearing
all 179 of those leaked songs never become singles,
the world was ready to give up on Jennifer Lopez's seventh album.
Then, in a magical reappearing act, Jenny from the Block
came back to rule the universe with the platinum-selling single,
"On The Floor." After the massive success of that track,
J. Lo has finally released Love?, and boy, who isn't in love now?
Want a review? You're about to get one. Now.

"On The Floor" featuring Pitbull- A-
Even after months of constant listening, it's still a hit in my mind.

Yeah, a version of this track leaked years ago. Whatever.
Version 2.0 is more powerful. DIVA.

"I'm Into You" featuring Lil' Wayne- A-
This song is extremely sweet, and Weezy works it out.
The beat is magnificent, if I might add.

"(What Is) Love?"- B+
This Wynter Gordon-penned track is definitely the
best ballad of the LP, even after leaking a while back too.
Great lyrics, and the beat is nice and smooth.

When this leaked (with a feature from Rick Ross!)
I crowned this song my favorite of the Love? era.
Even sans Ricky Rosay, it still is.
It's "next single" material, especially with summer on its way.

"Papi"- A+
The best banger from the album.
It has enough bass to fill an ampitheater.

"Until It Beats No More"- B-
It's a good effort (remember her performance of this on SNL?),
but it doesn't make an impact in my heart.

"One Love"- B
Good, even after the first listen two years ago.

"Invading My Mind"- A-
RedOne-produced, Lady GaGa-written.
Does it get any better than that?

"Villian"- A
This track is fierce. The lyrics punch you in the face,
and the vocals are nice and AutoTuned.
Radio killa!

"Starting Over"- C
Skip.

Even though this track was originally made for one-hit-wonder Tami Chynn,
I think J. Lo proved that this was in fact meant for her.

"Everybody's Girl"- B-
This song (also written by Wynter Gordon) is really weird,
in a weird sort of way. I might need a few more listens for it to sink in.
Ask me again in about a month.

"Charge Me Up"- B+
I like the many metaphors found in this record,
and the beat is one of the best I've heard in pop all year.

"Take Care"- A-
This song is excellent in a
"simple-and-trashy-and-dumb-as-fuck" way.
What's wrong with that?

"Ven A Bailar" ft. Pitbull- B
I'm not Spanish, so I have no clue what the hell they are saying.
But it sounds great. Sexy, too.

Overall Grade: A-
It's Jennifer Lopez we are talking about. It's automatically brilliant.
Now go buy it, or she'll show up at your house with a chainsaw.
