Lykke Li premieres new music video.

One of my favorite artists right now, Lykke Li, is still hard at work

promoting her two-month old album Wounded Rhymes (here's a REVIEW!)

She recently unveiled her latest music video; this time, it's to the song

"Sadness Is A Blessing," and features actor Stellan Skarsgard.

And like every other video from Lykke Li, it's a hidden masterpiece.

ALBUM REVIEW: Wounded Rhymes.

Swedish songstress Lykke Li's sophomore effort,

Wounded Rhymes, was released today in the US

(yesterday in the UK, tomorrow for Sweden),

and it's about time for the review of the album.

Lykke Li's best known for her buzz single in 2008, "Little Bit,"

and her addition to the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack with "Possibility."

"Youth Knows No Pain"- A

The drums, the synths, the sultry vocals. REPEAT.

"I Follow Rivers"- A+

I've already reviewed this on my blog,

but since I'm still in love with it, and since

it's pure perfection, it deserves a perfect grade. Bravo, bitch.

"Love Out Of Lust"- A+

I absolutely adore how lonely her voice sounds

with the bass drums in the verses,

and when the chorus picks up, it sends me into euphoria.

"Unrequited Love"- B+

One of the most calm songs on the album,

it will probably find it's place on many bedtime playlists.

"Get Some"- B

When you go from the last song to this,

it's a totally different sound. It's

the loudest and sexiest song on the record,

and even though it's not the best,

it surely won't disappoint.

"Rich Kids Blues"- B+

The beat seems like you are attending an Indian tribal concert,

and the vocal production is rockin'. The synths are great, too.

"Sadness Is A Blessing"- B-

If she wasn't singing the song,

it would seem to fit into something

Adele would sing. It's not bad,

it's just different.

"I Know Places"- B+

The longest track of this project,

Lykke Li seems to soar over grassy plains with her

calming vocals. It wouldn't be out of place

on the soundtracks of 127 Hours or Where The Wild Things Are.

"Jerome"- A-

The bass is back on this song,

as well as some handclaps and some type of wood instrument.

Her echoing voice rises above the production,

however, and lets you know how she feels how about this guy.

Great overall.

"Silent My Song"- A

Excellent. Period.

I never wanted this album to end.

OVERALL GRADE: A

Lykke Li readies sophomore album.

you HAVE to know how much I love Lykke Li.

you probably love the Swedish indie pop singer as much as I do.

Well, her sophomore album, Wounded Rhymes,

is set to be released on February 28th in the US, and March 1st in the UK.

Lykke Li releases "I Follow Rivers."

Swedish indie songstress Lykke Li is one of my favorite

singers of the past few years, so I thought since she's recently released her new single,

"I Follow Rivers," I thought I'd let you hear it, too!

If you think that it can't get better than "Get Some"/"Paris Blue", you're wrong!

Pick up her album, Wounded Rhymes, when it drops later in the year.

But, meanwhile, listen to the track under this text.

Lykke Li releases TWO new singles!

A few years ago, Swedish singer Lykke Li stepped onto American soil
and made a little impact on the indie scene with her songs,
"Little Bit" (which was covered by Drake,)
and "Possibility" (which was featured on the NEW MOON soundtrack!)

Now, she's back for another spin with two new singles that were released today,
as well as a free EP, which is available on her website (HERE).
The first of the two singles, "Get Some," is pretty good!
I cannot explain the song at all, besides the crazygood drum-beat,
and her always killer vocals.
Listen below and grade for yourself, but mine is definitely a B-.


Her other release, entitled "Paris Blue,"
is sooo pretty!
The guitar-driven indie ballad drives me crazy!
I usually enjoy heavily-produced songs better than acoustic ones,
but this tops "Get Some" by FAR.
GRADE: B+
